The Essong licence was acquired in June 2007, and is situated within the tropical southern part of Cameroon, within Archean craton geology. There are currently 6 BRGM uranium occurrences located within the licence area as well as potential secondary targets. The licence is Contiguous with the Djoum and Akonalinga licences held by African Aura Resources where at least seven uranium occurrences have been located by the BRGM
